The mission of the Education Ministry of the Church of Christ in Hallandale Beach is to develop spiritual growth and Christian character in all that attend our Sunday School and Mid-week Bible Classes. We are to guide our members in enhancing their personal relationship with Christ, by integrating biblical lessons in practical ways to all areas of life. Moreover, to equip them for service in the Lord’s Kingdom and the community in which they live.

	6th - 8th Graders
	High School
	Young Adult Class (18-26yrs old)

 

Applicant must be a Christian who attends a Church of Christ congregation in the tri-county area (Broward, Miami Dade or Palm Beach).  

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
SPIRITUAL CRITERIA: They exhibit Christian characteristics and behavior as well as are active in youth activities. They participate in Bible classes/worship services.		SCHOLASTIC CRITERIA:  They are graduating senior in high school with a 3.0 grade point average and will be continuing their education (vocational school, community college or university).
Complete scholarship application and submit a typed 1 page essay on either,           “How Has Being a Christian Changed My Life for the Better? ”  - OR-  complete the following statement in no less than 200 words,   “I plan to give back to my congregation and/or local community by….”
Tell us what your spiritual and educational goals are; include a copy of your report card; college acceptance letter; a letter of recommendation from the Minister or Youth Director of your congregation and also a letter of recommendation from a Teacher or Administrative Staff of your high school.

*PLEASE NOTE: All materials must be received together. Any incomplete packets will not be considered for the scholarship as well as packets that are received after the submission deadline.  Currently 2 students will be awarded: one from the Hallandale Beach congregation and one from any other congregation in the tri-county area.  Scholarship awards are in the amount of $1,000.00.  The recipient(s) will be recognized at the banquet and an account will be arranged with the financial aid department of the accepting learning institution to be used towards tuition and books. If there are no qualifying applicants based on the above criteria, the scholarship amount will be rolled to the following year.
